A once neglected cat who was found living in poor conditions has finally found the happy ending he deserves after being rescued and rehomed.

Sid, a three-year-old cat with a nasal birth deformity, was taken into care after concerns were raised about his welfare at a property in Wolverhampton.

He was suffering from fleas and breathing difficulties, and appeared to have been abandoned after those caring for him struggled to cope.

From neglect to new beginnings

After being rescued by the RSPCA, Sid was assessed by veterinary professionals who determined that surgery was not required. Instead, ongoing treatment, flea medication and a healthy diet helped to ease his breathing and improve his overall condition.

Within weeks, staff noticed a huge change in his confidence and comfort. Once he was well enough, Sid was put up for adoption and quickly caught the eye of a cat lover in Berkshire.

A perfect match for a caring family

New owner Kate Cooper said she fell in love with Sid as soon as she saw his photo online. Already experienced with cats who have medical needs, she felt ready to welcome him into her home.

Sid now lives alongside Kate’s blind cat, Echo and her Golden Retriever Froska, who has taken a particular shine to him. The trio regularly play and curl up together, enjoying their new life as a family.

Despite needing some minor ongoing care, Sid is described as affectionate, adventurous and thriving in his new surroundings.

Congratulations, Sid!
