They searched everywhere for her, but there was no sign of the little dog anywhere.
For a whole week, her owner was worried sick and feared the worst.
Vanished without a trace
Sassy's mum eventually began to think that a wild animal had taken her beloved dog, and she was utterly heartbroken. But a week later, her daughter, Carrie, received a phone call that changed everything: Sassy had been taken to a vet!
Carrie went straight to the clinic to pick Sassy up. Then, she had a brilliant idea. She decided to surprise her mum by bringing Sassy home, telling her she was just dropping off an early Christmas present.
The perfect surprise
Carrie's mum wasn't in the mood for Christmas presents. With tears in her eyes, she even turned her back on her daughter. But Carrie walked over and placed Sassy right in her arms. Her owner's reaction was one of pure shock and joy, as you can see in the video below.
Sassy was delighted to be back home. Her family thinks she managed to climb the fence, which is how she escaped. One thing is for sure: for Sassy and her owner, this reunion was the best Christmas present they could have ever wished for!
