Cuteness alert! Cats are often thought of as solitary creatures. However, a video shared by user “WeddingPlanningsWiftie” proves that felines can be incredibly caring, especially towards other youngsters.
A helping paw for a new mum
The TikToker explained that her cat, named Athena, decided to look after another feline's kittens.
This adorable behaviour was captured on camera by the young woman. In her video, you can see her pet surrounded by a multitude of tiny kittens. She even joked that she “lives in a zoo”.
A natural instinct to nurture
As the website PetHelpful explains, the presence of kittens can trigger hormonal changes in female cats. They may instinctively want to care for and protect vulnerable creatures, like these little ones.
This meant Athena could lend a helping paw to the kittens' mother, allowing her to get some well-deserved rest.
