Safe Rescue may be a UK based charity, but they regularly travel to Romania to help where they can, visiting pounds and bringing dogs to safety.
So when they spotted a little black dog helplessly hiding at the back of a kennel, they didn't hesitate. They immediately intervened, and found two tiny puppies clinging to her fur.
Safe at last
Thankfully, it turned out that Helen- as she was later named- was not permanently paralysed.
The tranquilliser dart used to catch her had temporary side effects, and she soon regained the use of her legs once she was safe with the rescue team.
Ready for her new home
Helen recently travelled to the Norfolk, where she is currently being fostered while she waits to find her family.

"She is a submissive girl who will cower as a dog that’s known abuse in her past often does" explained Safe Rescue. "When she trusts you she is affectionate and friendly. Helen is a placid girl who would like a quietish home environment".
This brave girl has already been through so much. She deserves the best home, where she will be surrounded by love and kindness for the rest of her days.
