Arna wasn't expecting to receive a text late in the evening from her neighbour.
In the text, her neighbour told her that Volvo was asleep in a shop window...
A night of panic?
It was very late, so Arna unfortunately couldn't find anyone to open the shop window. She had to wait until the following morning to go and collect her moggy. She then found Volvo curled up on the sheepskin near the shop window. He was in absolutely no hurry to leave the comfort of the shop window display!
It has to be said that this wasn't the first time the moggy had found himself in this situation. He'd already been trapped in a shop window at another shop in the city...
A real phenomenon
Arna called the shop's security company for help. They laughed on the phone when they heard about the situation, saying that this wasn't the first time they'd received a call about it. She was then able to bring the cat back home.
It has to be said that the moggy is well known in the city. When Arna adopted Volvo, she very quickly noticed that he wanted to go outside. So she would walk him, but once he was big enough to wander about on his own, Volvo began making friends in all the shops in Reykjavik city centre. It's not unusual to find him sleeping in one of the shops in the centre.
His owner has even created an Instagram account to document his adventures. Today, Volvo's fame extends far beyond Reykjavik. The celebrity cat is followed by more than 38,000 followers on his Instagram account!
