An 18-month-old kitten has surprised her owner, who was recovering after knee surgery.

In a post shared on Reddit, a woman who has just had knee surgery shared her cat's reaction since returning home.

As she shares in the clip, Bobby, the 18-month-old kitten, stays glued to her human. The feline has settled near her knee like a devoted nurse. "She's also been very affectionate with me since I came home", the user told Newsweek.

"I had support and love"

Bobby seems so devoted that her owner wonders whether "cats can sense when you're injured?"

"I feel like she knew I needed support and love", she continues.

It's worth knowing that cats can easily detect changes in their owner's behaviour. "They may not feel empathy like humans do, but they can often sense their owners' physical or emotional pain", says Amber Batteiger, a veterinary technician.
