On 7th October, she was driving along a country road when she glanced in her rear-view mirror.
To her great surprise, she spotted a kitten staring at her... from inside her car!
A little intruder
The kitten was perched on the back seat, looking straight into the rear-view mirror as if to say: "Why is this thing moving?" Lindsey was shocked. How had the kitten got in? At first, the young woman thought there was only one kitten in her car. Then she heard muffled sounds coming from under her seat...
Lindsey stopped at a nearby petrol station to work out what was happening. Searching her car, she discovered three kittens and their mum nestled in the vehicle's cosy blankets... Lindsey quickly realised what had happened. She'd accidentally left her boot open earlier that day, allowing the cats to climb in and make themselves comfortable in her car.
An efficient rescue
Still in shock, Lindsey quickly pulled herself together to help the cat family. She took them home to keep them warm. Lindsey decided to name the mother Mamba and the three babies: Teeny, Tiny and Chonk.
Even though she would have loved to keep all four, she knew a rescue centre could give them the care they deserved. She contacted Kat Vet, a local rescue organisation, who agreed to take the cats in. The whole family is now resting and receiving the medical care they need. Once the kittens are healthy and fully weaned, they'll be ready for adoption. We wish them all the best!
