Instead of searching for adopters, she chose to welcome all seven – a mother cat named Rosie and her six kittens – into her home for good.
Rosie, a two-year-old polydactyl cat, had clearly picked the right doorstep.
Unique family
Her litter of kittens came in pairs of matching coats: two ginger, two tabby and two lynx point. All shared their mother’s extra toes, making them an even more unique family.
Their rescuer quickly set them up with warmth, safety and plenty of love. As the kittens grew, she discovered she had three males and three females, each with their own personality. Once old enough, all were spayed or neutered, complete with soft fabric cones and a celebratory box of doughnuts for the humans.
Happy ever after
The family’s adventures have since been documented on Instagram, where followers enjoy photos of the cats playing, snoozing and exploring their screened balcony. Recently, they even moved to a bigger home with a garden, ensuring a safe and happy life together.
For Rosie and her kittens, forever really does mean forever.
