Dog tied to beam in blazing sun was dying in 30-degree heat when worker heard him

An American Staffordshire Terrier was found exhausted and without water in scorching 30-degree heat in Valdepeñas, Spain.

A dog named Ares, an American Staffordshire Terrier, was found tied to an iron beam on a street in Valdepeñas, Ciudad Real, Spain. 

He was left exposed to the blazing sun with no shade, food, or water, in temperatures over 30 degrees Celsius, risking heatstroke.

Construction worker to the rescue

A nearby construction worker heard his cries and rushed to help. The dog was so weak he could barely lift his head. The man supported Ares’s muzzle so he could drink water and untied him immediately.

The Civil Guard was alerted, and officers from Seprona and the Valdepeñas Local Police arrived to take the dog to the Municipal Dog Centre, where his recovery began.

Waiting for adoption 

According to Valdepeñas Town Council’s Instagram, the centre “has ensured that Ares is waiting for a new family.”

We hope Ares soon leaves behind the pain of his abandonment.
