The message was from a passer-by who had found a black and white dog lying in some bushes. The poor animal was in distress; she couldn't move and was whimpering in pain.
Heartbreaking cries
Arturo rushed to the scene, and what he saw broke his heart. Just as the passer-by had described, the dog was lying on her side, surrounded by rubbish and leaves, unable to move. She was desperately crying for help, and it looked as though she had been abandoned there for days.
Fortunately, Arturo arrived just in time to save the dog, who was later named Tillie. He carefully lifted her into his car and drove her to the Camino Veterinary Clinic for a thorough examination.
A serious fracture
At the clinic, the vet quickly discovered that Tillie was suffering from a fractured pelvis, which explained her constant crying and inability to stand or walk. The veterinary team immediately gave her some painkillers.
A few days after her rescue, the veterinary team is still determining whether she will need surgery to repair her fractured pelvis. But thanks to medication and constant affection, Tillie is already on the road to recovery and regaining her strength. It is a great relief, and everyone hopes she makes a full and speedy recovery.
