In Pennsylvania, Iris's owner knew his pet's days were numbered. The dog was no longer responding to treatment for a growth on her nose.
For his Great Dane's final moments, he decided to surprise her by ordering a meal from a restaurant: An 8oz steak, chips, mashed potatoes and bread.

Upon learning the story behind this order, Kate, an employee, decided to add a personal touch to the order.
She added in a heartfelt note, that read: 'made with love'.
Touching gestures
But that wasn't all. When collecting his order, the owner was surprised to discover that the restaurant was offering the meal free of charge.
"Not only did the restaurant refuse to let me pay for the meal, but the wonderful staff took the time to write a note on top of the container and a message on the back of the receipt (and even offered their condolences in person when I picked up my meal)", he explained.
A touching gesture that deeply moved Iris's owner. "Thank you from the bottom of my heart!", he wrote.
