Suzette Hall thought she was on a routine mission, but then she saw a little nose.

When rescuer Suzette Hall set out to save a stray dog in Los Angeles, she expected a typical day’s work.

But just as she wrapped up the mission, something unexpected caught her eye, a tiny nose poking through a cardboard box.

Box of puppies

Hall, founder of Logan’s Legacy 29, had stopped by the local shelter to notify staff after securing the stray. As she approached the entrance, she spotted someone carrying two cardboard boxes, taped shut, with holes on the sides. Then came the moment that changed everything.

“These poor babies were being surrendered,” Hall said. “They were popping their little faces out of the holes.”

Inside each box was a puppy, frightened, confused, and being handed over by the only family they’d ever known. With the shelter already at capacity, Hall convinced the person to surrender the pups to her directly.

Second chance for love and happiness

“It was honestly a little miracle that I was there,” she said.

Hall whisked the puppies, later named Eve and Forrest, to her vet for checkups before settling them into foster care.

Now safe and surrounded by love, the pair are thriving and waiting to find their forever homes.

“They’re little miracle babies,” Hall said.
