Alana Falk and her husband, a firefighter, had shut their bedroom door for the night, as they typically do to keep their cats out.
However, on this particular night, their nearly 4-year-old cat, Trident, began scratching at the door incessantly, meowing with what seemed like panic.

Falk opened the door, and Trident quickly ran to the kitchen, leading her to a strange smell reminiscent of burning chemicals.
Her husband investigated and discovered that a piece had fallen off the dishwasher, landed on the heating element, and begun to melt.

Falk convinced that Trident’s actions had saved them from a potential disaster, shared the story in a TikTok video that quickly went viral, garnering over 230,000 views. While her husband joked about Trident "saving" the dishwasher, Falk proudly placed a photo of the cat on the mantel, commemorating his heroism.
