A silver Maine Coon named Mr Pugsley Addams has officially scooped the Guinness World Record for the longest tail on a living domestic cat.

Measuring an impressive 18.5 inches (46.99 cm), the Minnesota-based Maine Coon has out fluffed the competition, surpassing the previous record of 16.07 inches.

Pugsley’s owner, Amanda Cameron, first noticed his unusually long tail during a routine vet visit.

Record breaker

It wasn’t until her children looked up the existing world record that they realised Pugsley had something truly special. “To our shock, Pugsley beat it!” Amanda said.

Named after the mischievous Addams Family character, Pugsley is known for his curiosity, creativity, and tender side. “He’s very affectionate and adores his mum,” Amanda shared. His tail, ever expressive and often in the way, has become part of his identity.

Feline fame and future hopes

Now a local celebrity, Mr. Pugsley is more than just a record-holder; he’s a beloved companion.

As Guinness celebrates its 70th year, his family is already imagining what title he might conquer next.
