Cat owner Martin from Villach, Austria, couldn't believe his eyes when his cat Meine came home from an outdoor adventure.
Shockingly, she had been operated on without her owner's knowledge or consent!
Spayed without permission
Martin was understandably horrified. His cats were clearly cared for and loved- and they never strayed from his property.
"Our cats have the large garden, that's their territory where they roam about. By now, that's normal for us." he told Austrian newspaper Kleine Zeitung.
With a surgical wound that had clearly just been stitched up, there was no doubt that Meine had been spayed.
Mysterious actions
Who took her from the garden to have her spayed?
Whilst there has been a free spaying programme for stray cats in the Carinthia region, you have to prove the cat is a stray.
Martin has asked around the local area to no avail. Nobody seems to have any information about the mysterious incident.
He will be contacting local vets, but has confirmed he won't be pressing charges.
