Erica and Cristian had gone to the venue with their parents to plan their big day when Cristian’s mum spotted a little kitten shivering behind a flowerpot. Soaked and freezing, the little cat had no sign of a mother nearby.
“The venue manager came out with a napkin for us to wrap her in,” Erica recalled. “She was soaking wet and so cold.”
Melted hearts in an instant
Despite Cristian’s initial hesitation about getting another pet, he instantly melted when he saw the kitten. The pair already shared a cat named Sushi, but Erica had been hoping for another. Within minutes, both knew the kitten was coming home with them.
They named her Rigatoni, after the pasta dish they had eaten just before the discovery.
Best decision ever!
Once home, the couple bathed and fed her before rushing her to the vet, where she was thankfully given a clean bill of health.
Rigatoni has since settled in with Sushi and become a beloved part of the family. As Erica put it, “It was the best decision ever.”
