Alison Hammond faces continued criticism from viewers, after returning for a second series as host of ITV series For The Love of Dogs.

This Morning presenter Alison Hammond has faced widespread criticism ever since she took over hosting the show from the late Paul O'Grady, who passed away in March 2023.

Now viewers are calling for her to be replaced immediately, following claims she has "no joy or chemistry with any of the dogs she visits".

Ongoing complaints

Viewers took to their X accounts this week, as a new series of For The Love of Dogs aired on ITV.

"How come someone who does not own a dog presents a show about dogs? At least Paul O' Grady loved dogs" , asked an outraged viewer.

Alison had previously addressed the issue, explaining her work schedule makes it impossible to share her life with a pet of her own. But many viewers suggest this is actually because the presenter doesn't like dogs.

"Alison looks very withdrawn from the dogs and looks absolutely terrified of them and will only go as far as stroking them", wrote a viewer on X.

"Scared of dogs"

During a 2019 interview, Claire Louise-Dixon, who runs the charity Wheels to Paws, claimed the presenter was "scared"  of her dogs. She went on to suggest that Alison took on her role on the show to pay her mortgage.

Her account was denied by a spokesperson for ITV, but this seems to have done very little to put an end to the criticism by fans of the show.
