Enjoying every second

The clip, which has now been viewed over 600,000 times, shows the beautiful blue-eyed cat resting on top of the piano.

He may not have been able to hear the music, but it didn't stop him enjoying every second of the experience.

Closing his eyes before stretching out, Guapo couldn't get enough of the piano vibrations.

"Hearing it the way Beethoven did"

Research suggests that 65-85% of white cats with two blue eyes will be deaf in both ears, due to a genetic condition that causes inner ear degeneration. This condition is called congenital sensorineural deafness.

Deaf cats are typically as healthy as other cats, but the following precautions may help them feel more comfortable in their environment:

  • Using visual cues to get their attention.
  • Keeping them indoors to protect them from risk of injury or accident.
  • Creating a routine to help keep their environment predictable.

Cat lovers around the world were touched by Guapo's reaction, with many sharing their thoughts.

"Wonder if it feels like purring since it's rhythmic vibrations", asked a viewer.

"Probably the closest he'll come to hearing", wrote another. "At least if there's one thing he can 'hear', it's something beautiful".
