Vladislav Duda, fleeing war-torn Ukraine, never expected his beloved kitten, Peach, to save his life.

While crossing the Romanian mountains, Duda and his companions were caught in a brutal snowstorm.

As he carried Peach, Duda slipped down a ravine and became trapped in freezing temperatures.

Dan Benga, the rescue crew's director, believes Peach played a crucial role in Duda's survival. "The cat was warming him... so he saved his life," Benga said. "He doesn't care about himself, only the cat."

Miracle kitten

Despite the severe cold, Peach remained by Duda’s side, providing warmth and companionship until help arrived. Once rescued, Duda was treated for hypothermia, with Peach still by him at the hospital.

This extraordinary bond between man and cat has been called a miracle, demonstrating their devotion to one another in life-threatening conditions. Both Duda and Peach are recovering and receiving the care they need.

Well done, Peach!
