In the wake of the recent Jeju Air tragedy, an animal rights group has stepped in to rescue a dog named Pudding, left orphaned after losing its entire family.

Pudding, an adorable mixed breed dog, lived with a 79-year-old man who had travelled with his entire family to celebrate his 80th birthday.

Tragically, the man perished in the Jeju air crash alongside his wife, daughter, and 6-year-old granddaughter, leaving Pudding completely alone.

The community’s concern for Pudding

Following the loss, Pudding was seen wandering between the family home and the village center in Yeonggwang County, South Jeolla Province, appearing to search for his missing family.

Local villagers, moved by the dog’s plight, provided food and kept a watchful eye on Pudding’s wellbeing.

A new chapter of care and healing

Recognising the risks of leaving Pudding uncared for, an animal rights group named Care intervened. After consulting with the grieving family, Care rescued Pudding and transported the dog to Seoul for veterinary care. Despite initial unease during the journey, Pudding has shown a calm and gentle demeanor. Health examinations are ongoing due to the dog’s consumption of harmful foods.

Care has committed to ensuring Pudding’s safety and wellbeing, with plans to find a loving new home. Good luck, Pudding!
