The woman, who lives in Bois-Guillaume near Rouen, France, was initially puzzled by the sudden appearance of the item.
However, the mystery deepened the following day when her dog returned with a jewellery box.
Luxury jewellery
This second discovery was enough to alarm the woman. She decided to search her garden, suspecting there might be more clues linked to the watch and jewellery box. What she found, however, was far beyond anything she expected: a treasure trove buried deep in her garden.
The loot was carefully wrapped in a pillowcase. Inside were pieces of jewellery, gold coins, cufflinks, and other precious items.
Ongoing investigation
Without hesitation, the woman went to the police, bringing both her dog and the unearthed valuables. Investigators quickly connected the find to a burglary that had occurred in the area on 20 November. Forensic analyses are now being conducted on the items to help identify the thieves.
There’s no doubt that this sharp-nosed pooch has a natural talent for sniffing out clues; perhaps a future as a police sniffer dog awaits!
