A family in Florida was stunned when their missing dog returned home by ringing the doorbell in the early hours of Christmas Eve.

Athena, a four-year-old German Shepherd mix, had been missing for nine days before she made her unexpected arrival at the family’s doorstep.

Owner Brooke Comer said that it was around 2:30 am when Athena appeared and rang the doorbell with her paw. Comer had been distributing flyers and reviewing doorbell footage in the hope of finding her beloved pet.
