The poor dog, approximately six months old, was found in freezing temperatures. Pound rescuers quickly rushed to collect him.
Named Rex by pound officers, the young dog is described as cheerful, playful, and affectionate.
Groomer steps up to help
Zachery Studdard, a local pet groomer, saw a Facebook post about Rex’s situation and knew he had to act. He visited Rex to ensure the dog was warm, well-fed, and comfortable.
Studdard also offered to foster Rex until he finds a permanent home.
Important message for pet owners
Ingham County Animal Control has launched an investigation into the abandonment of the dog. Unfortunately, pound officers have observed a rise in the number of abandoned pets as the weather grows colder.
They urge anyone unable to care for their pet to contact a local shelter for assistance.
We hope Rex continues to thrive and finds a loving home soon.
