The team successfully coaxed the frightened dog back inside the house by offering treats, ensuring it returned safely through the same window.

Photos posted online captured the nervous-looking dog on the roof before its rescue.

Frightened and confused

Watch Manager Geoff Wheal praised the crew's efforts: "Patience and teamwork were key in resolving this incident. The dog was understandably scared, but with careful handling, we were able to guide it back indoors without injury."

The firefighters also secured the window to prevent further escapades.

While the owners have not commented on the incident, the St Bernard appeared unhurt and relieved to be back on solid ground.
