The dog owner first heard her dogs barking at something in the garden.
She peered outside, only to spot a grey animal running free. Fearing for her own safety, she stayed firmly shut inside, venturing out only once the coast was clear.
A shocking discovery
It wasn't until she got to the outdoor kennel, that she realised something wasn't right.
Her dogs were agitated and on high alert, bothered by something inside the wooden structure.
Cautiously looking inside, she couldn't believe her eyes. A huge grey wolf was staring back!
"He didn't do anything. He was very gentle", she told zary.naszemiasto.pl online. "I could see that something was wrong with him. He wasn't interested in eating or drinking, he just lay there, only changing position sometimes".
Expert help on the way
The concerned owner contacted the local authorities for help, who put her in touch with wildlife specialists known as Wilk.
Under their expert care, he was rehabilitated and prepared for release.
Once ready, he was transferred to the Wolf Park in Stobnica, where he would be protected and cared for for the rest of his days.
