The adorable pup is a long-haired Miniature Dachshund. He was a happy and healthy little puppy, living life to the fullest.
Murphy spent his days playing with his brother and enjoying his puppyhood. But then, just two months later, everything changed. One June morning, the pup woke up feeling completely different. He was in terrible pain and struggled to make even the slightest movement.
Everything seemed perfect
His owner immediately sensed that something was seriously wrong. The couple rushed Murphy to the vet.
After a series of tests, they received the devastating news: Murphy was suffering from hydrocephalus, a condition where there is an abnormal build-up of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) in the brain, which can occur due to overproduction or poor drainage.
A risky surgery
To survive, Murphy needed brain surgery. At just 5 months old, he underwent a major operation. Thankfully, the surgery was a success and there were no complications.
Seven months after the surgery, Murphy’s owners shared that their beloved pup is still the happiest of puppies!
Murphy’s recovery video left internet users stunned. One commented, "I almost cried seeing my Dachshund after his intervertebral disc surgery. I can’t imagine what you’ve been through. What a lovely dog!"
We’re all relieved and overjoyed that Murphy is back on his feet, and the ordeal is now behind him.
