A Jack Russell terrier named Rose has been rescued after spending an incredible seven days trapped 26 feet deep in a cliff face in West Yorkshire.

On 26 September, while walking with her owner, the 8-year-old Jack Russell became stuck in a narrow crevice between Illingworth and Halifax.

Efforts to free Rose involved a dedicated group of volunteers working tirelessly at the site each day.

Throughout the ordeal, volunteers managed to send food and water to the dog, keeping her alive during the week-long rescue attempt.

The emotional moment Rose was freed was captured on a live stream. It showed her wrapped in a coat and taken to a vet for immediate care.

Road to recovery

Rose was found to be dehydrated, hungry, and had sustained minor injuries, but an ultrasound confirmed no internal damage. She is now on the mend and expected to reunite with her relieved family soon.

The volunteers involved in the rescue have been widely praised for their persistence and efforts in ensuring Rose’s safe recovery.

Well done everybody!
