The day started out like any other for a boy and his dog, who got into the lift to go for a walk.
Seconds later, the pair found themselves in unthinkable danger, when the doors of the lift trapped his four-legged friend.
A sudden hero
The relationship between this brave boy and his dog has melted hearts around the world, after he came to the sudden rescue of the Shih Tzu.
Terrifyingly, as they waited for the lift to start moving, the dog’s lead became caught in the doors. The dog quickly realises, spinning around to see why there’s sudden pressure on his harness. At this point his 11-year-old owner works out what’s happening, immediately jumping in to save the day.
As the dog is dragged upwards, the boy manages to grab hold of the top of the lead, preventing injury to the panicked pup and breaking him free.
The incredible rescue
This incredible act of bravery has now been viewed 16.7 million times, quickly transforming the young owner into somewhat of an internet sensation.

When asked where he found the courage to act so quickly, the little boy responded, “I don’t know. I just acted on impulse”.
Thanks to his quick-thinking, his dog is safe and healthy, and back where he belongs.
