Brody, a six-year-old dog with a troubled past, is seeking a new home after his family discovered he couldn't adapt to living with their newborn baby.

The beloved pet, who had already overcome an abusive past, was forced to leave his family due to the challenges of cohabiting with an infant.

Heartbreaking decision

Carolina Animal Rescue & Adoption announced the heart-wrenching decision on Facebook, noting that Brody's previous family was devastated by the separation. "Their plan was always to integrate Brody with the new baby," the shelter wrote.

"However, it became clear that Brody needs a child-free, pet-free environment, a situation that broke their hearts."

Affectionate “snuggle bug”

Now in foster care, Brody is described as a loving "snuggle bug" who enjoys playing hide-and-seek, walks and sunbathing. The adoption centre emphasises his affectionate nature and close bond with his human family members.

The shelter did not detail why Brody struggled with the newborn, but his story highlights the challenges some pets face when families grow.

We hope Brody gets another chance to be happy with a new family.
