An RSPCA rescue team was left in shock, after they discovered two German Shepherds confined to a crate under a bush. Now they have a second chance at happiness.

When RSPCA inspectors arrived to inspect a case of animal neglect, they couldn't believe their eyes.

Two German Shepherds had been shut in a crate, hidden away under a bush. They were covered in dirt, and had suffered significant muscle loss due to their cramped living conditions.

A heartbreaking sight

Buffy and Tia, as they were later named, had been terribly neglected.

Buffy weighed a shocking 17.5kg, and was diagnosed with hip dysplasia.

These gentle souls had clearly never experienced the warmth of a home or the love and care of a family, but despite this, their spirits remained unbroken.

Determined to heal

Tia and Buffy were taken in by the Cotswolds Dogs and Cats Home CDCH, where they have shown how loving and resilient they really are.

Buffy is now undergoing hydrotherapy for her hip dysplasia, and has reached 25.1kg in weight. "Both dogs are showing an incredible determination to heal and thrive", explained CDCH on Facebook.

Appealing for support from followers, they wrote, "we need your help to continue providing the care they deserve. Your donations will support essential medical care, nourishing food and the loving environment they need to fully recover".

Thanks to their hard work and dedication, Buffy and Tia now have a second chance at real happiness.
