What should have been a relaxing Spanish holiday turned into an emotional rollercoaster for German tourist Gunter when his beloved dog disappeared.

Seventy-six-year-old Gunter from Germany had been enjoying soaking up the sights of the Galicia region of northwest Spain alongside his faithful companion, Molly, the dog.

Missing Molly

But Gunter's trip turned into a nightmare when Molly disappeared in Pontevedra. She had been scared by a loud noise and had run off.

What made things even harder for Gunter was that he didn’t speak Spanish, making finding Molly much more difficult.

Fortunately, local animal protection organisation Adoptions Galicia heard of Gunter’s plight and quickly offered to help. They organised a huge search operation for the missing dog.

For eight long days, dozens of people helped Gunter search for Molly, putting up posters with her photo. One of the volunteers spoke German and was able to translate for Gunter.

Good news!

Finally, there was some good news. Molly had been spotted in the O Castelo area of Lerez. Searchers narrowed down the search area, which finally led them to Molly.

Gunter couldn’t wait to be reunited with his dog. It was an emotional scene, and Gunter hugged his faithful canine companion. Molly seemed also relieved to be back with her owner.

Gunter took Molly back to his motorhome where they relaxed together for a while before resuming their adventures.
