Concerned their cat was depressed, Mango’s owners got him a feline sibling, hoping it would lift his mood, but it did much more than that.

Mango, a gorgeous ginger Maine Coon, lives in Romania with his devoted owner Mady Mondan.

Depressed and lonely

Mady had become worried about Mango when he started showing signs of depression when she went back to work after the pandemic and started leaving him on his own. While he was in good physical health, the vet attributed Mango’s behaviour to loneliness.

Maine Coons are social creatures needing constant attention, so Mady and her partner decided to introduce a companion, little Hera, into the family.

Hera’s arrival marked a significant turning point. Initially hesitant, Mango soon warmed up to his new friend, and within days, they became inseparable. The video captures heartwarming moments of the pair cuddling, playing, and grooming each other.

Mady shares that since Hera’s arrival, Mango has shown no signs of depression. In fact, the new arrival has given Mango a new lease of life. Regular check-ups confirm their perfect health and abundant energy.

The heartening tale has resonated deeply with viewers, who were moved by the remarkable transformation and the bond between the two cats.

Mady says getting Hera was the best decision they ever made, as she brought joy to Mango and taught him how to love even more deeply.
