When a kind passer-by found a tiny, senior dog roaming the streets of Rotterdam, he knew he had to help.
It's unusual to see stray dogs in the city, so he suspected the pup may have been abandoned.
Mysterious microchip
When rescue staff went to check the dog's microchip, they learnt that his name is Dribbel. And incredibly, he is 17-years-old!
The poor pup clearly has quite the story to tell. While nobody knows whether he was intentionally abandoned or became separated from his owner, the number connected to his microchip is out of service.
Sadly, this means that there is no way of working out what actually happened to Dribbel that fateful day he was found crossing Hudson Street.
A new start
Due to his age, Dribbel was found to have some teeth and heart issues, for which he is receiving medication. Dental surgery would be too risky, so the rescue has decided it's in his best interest to forego a procedure.
Dribbel was kindly taken in by a foster family, to help him recuperate from his ordeal. On arrival he was stiff and shaky, but with painkillers, he now moves around with ease.
While his foster home have done a wonderful job, they cannot keep Dribbel long-term, so the senior pup is looking for a forever home, that will offer him lots of love and attention for his final days. Hopefully he will soon find the happy ending he deserves.
