The little kitten was rushed to the vet in critical condition, where an x-ray revealed the true extent of the feline’s suffering.
A pellet in the kitten’s back
To everyone’s horror, the x-ray showed a shotgun pellet lodged on the left side of the kitten’s back. Someone had deliberately shot the kitten and just left it for dead on the street.
The kitten, named Orion, had been left paralysed from its ordeal. The shotgun pellet had traversed from the right side through the kitten’s back, leaving severe damage in the process. A local animal shelter took Orion into the care, determined to help him get back on his paws.
Despite the heartbreaking situation, shelter staff dedicated themselves to Orion’s rehabilitation. Specialising in caring for abandoned and abused animals, they worked tirelessly to restore the two-month-old kitten’s mobility.
New beginnings for Orion
They also shared his story online to raise awareness and ask for donations towards his care. Eventually, the once-paralysed kitten transformed into a healthy and affectionate adult cat. After receiving the green light from the vet, Orion was eagerly put up for adoption.
Months later, heartening news emerged from the shelter – Orion had fully recuperated and found a loving family. The resilient cat can now anticipate a life filled with love and care in his new forever home.
