Luka Bogdanovich was driving around the area to help his friend Brian Spies search for his beloved puppy Luna.
Search for missing puppy
The 10-month-old German Shepherd puppy had gone missing from near Brian’s home in El Dorado County in California, and everyone was concerned that she might fall victim to local predators.
While driving along, Luka glanced left and spotted something in a tree. But it wasn’t a cat or a large bird. As he got a closer look, he saw the familiar shape of a dog.
Luka grabbed his phone and immediately phoned Brian to share good and bad news. He’d found Luna, but the dog was stuck 25 feet up a tree.
Rescue mission
While it was a complete mystery how Luna had managed to get up the tree and so high, the focus was on getting her down to safety. Brian rushed to the scene and, using an extension ladder, he was able to successfully rescue Luna, who, thankfully, emerged from the ordeal unscathed, albeit very tried.
Here's what a German Shepherd stuck up a tree looks like:
Relieved to have his dog back safe and sound, Brian still has no idea what led to Luna being up the tree. But given her climbing abilities, if she ever gets lost again, he says the first thing he’ll do is look up at the trees.
