Toupie is only 2-years-old, but he has already experienced a lot. Abandoned, adopted and then abandoned again, he's now looking for a real forever home.

In late 2022, Toupie was abandoned by his family in a garden.

They had no interest in him once he was no longer a little kitten, so they left him alone to fend for himself.

Thankfully, a caring passerby saw him, and quickly brought him to safety.

Worrying threats

Following some time in an emergency foster, Toupie was placed in a new home. Struggling to get on with all the resident pets, he quickly became very stressed.

It was in March 2023 that Toupie found what was meant to be his forever home, but it quickly became apparent this wouldn't be the case.

A few months after his adoption, Toupie's new owner contacted the rescue centre, asking to return the cat because he was urinating outside his litter box. Clearly due to stress, rescue workers tried to explain that Toupie would need some time to settle. And with no foster spaces available, they needed a little time to make arrangements.

This was when the worrying threats started, with the adopter suggesting she put Toupie back outside, with a GPS collar so she could prove she hadn't actually abandoned him.

Realising the urgency of the situation, and thanks to the quick work of volunteers, Toupie was moved to an emergency foster.

New beginnings

Toupie is slowly recovering from his multiple abandonments, which have taken their toll on such a sensitive soul. He had his first seizure shortly after being moved, for which he is now receiving treatment.

This unlucky little cat will need a patient, caring home, who appreciate his wonderful qualities and allow him to settle. Despite all he has been through, he is a cuddly, affectionate kitty, who enjoys spending time with his people.

He can even live with children and other animals, provided they don't overwhelm him and give him space when he needs it.

Toupie has his whole life ahead of him, and after such a stressful series of events, nobody deserves a happy ending more than he does!
