In a moment of overwhelming fear, this poor pup made a mistake that has had life changing consequences. Here is his story...

Lolo is a stunning American Shepherd, who was rehomed by French rescue group Association d'Aide des Chiens de Berger four years ago.

He seemed to settle with his new family, until an unfortunate event changed everything.

A fearful reaction

A sensitive soul by nature, Lolo has always struggled with the outdoors.

This is something his owners have worked on over the four years he has been with them, but despite some improvements, his anxiety took a turn a few weeks ago.

Lolo grew increasingly hesitant to go outside, getting stressed and nervous whenever the opportunity arose.

On the fateful day in question, Lolo's owners decided he had to go outside. After urinating from fear, he eventually made it out the front door, but quickly slipped his collar to run back to the apartment. His male owner then forced him back out of the house, placing him in his basket on their return. Confused and overwhelmed, Lolo tried to leave. On seeing this, his female owner scolded the dog, pointing him towards a corner.

In a moment of panic, the frightened pup nipped her finger. After 4 years of sharing their home with Lolo, the owners called the rescue organisation to return him.

New beginnings

Lolo is without doubt, a very fearful dog, who needs a patient, quiet home. In spite of his fears, he is also fairly relaxed indoors, good with cats and indifferent to other dogs. He can be shy with strangers, and would not suit a home with children or lots of visiting strangers, but aside from this, he is a loving companion who deserves a fresh start in life.

He has been let down after so many years with his family, but hopefully now he has a chance to find the understanding, devoted owners he deserves.
