When Stella arrived home, she noticed a little cat snoozing on her outdoor sofa.
At least she thought it was a cat. As she approached the furry visitor, she realised things weren't quite as they seemed.
An unexpected guest
As the morning sun grew brighter, the mysterious visitor started to wake up.
Lifting his head, Stella was confronted with a fox!
With his large ears, a long muzzle and a fluffy tail, there was no mistaking this surprise guest.
I'm not going anywhere
The fox may have noticed someone was watching him... but that didn't deter the cunning canid from his resting spot.
He quickly made it very clear he wasn't going anywhere in a hurry, stretching out and yawning.
Finally, as the sun went down, he decided the time had come to move on. As he swiftly made his exit into the darkness, he paused to watch the birds in the birdbath. But then he was gone, fully rested and ready for more adventures to come.
"I was sad when he left", explained Stella to The Dodo. "I hope he comes back someday. He will always be welcome here to relax in my safe environment".
