The revelation that the legendary King of Pop, Michael Jackson, suffered from severe cynophobia, an intense fear of dogs, has surprised and intrigued fans.

Fear of dogs

In his book "Walking Wisdom", author Gotham Chopra recounts the megastar's deep-rooted fear of dogs which he witnessed firsthand. When visiting Jackson with his father, Deepak Chopra, the Chopras inadvertently triggered the star's fear by bringing along their dog.

The encounter highlighted Jackson's extreme anxiety around canines. Gotham explains that this phobia stemmed from Jackson's traumatic childhood experiences, as his father had owned aggressive dogs trained to attack.

“Hitler” the dog

The strained relationship between Michael Jackson, his siblings, and their father, Joseph, is well-documented. Joseph Jackson's stern patriarch and manager role propelled the Jackson family to international fame, both as the Jackson Five and as individual artists. Notably, Michael and sister Janet achieved mega-stardom under his guidance.

In a peculiar twist, it's also revealed that Joseph Jackson had an unusual penchant for naming his dogs, as exemplified by the canine named "Hitler" in the 1970s. This revelation was corroborated by Michael's brother Jermaine. The media had previously speculated that Hitler was actually Jackson's own pet dog, adding to the intrigue surrounding his life.
