A heartwarming video shared on social media reveals what it must be like to go from being tied up every day to finally having the chance to run free.
Poor Buddy had a rough life. The nine-year-old pup spent most days tied to a tree at the bottom of his garden. His owner never took him for a walk or let him run around and play. He was also regularly beaten.
Abused and tied to a tree
Concerned neighbours took pity on Buddy’s plight and reported his situation to local authorities. Sadly, nothing happened and Buddy’s nightmare continued. That was until his life was suddenly turned upside down when his owner moved away and just left him tied to a tree.
When a neighbour heard what had happened to Buddy, they offered him a temporary home until something more permanent could be found. Unfortunately, though, their other dog was not keen on having a new playmate, so they built Buddy a little house at the bottom of the garden.
Kindness of strangers
But as time went on and the weather began to get colder, they knew it was time to find somewhere new for Buddy. Lindsay Hyslop was the next person to try to help Buddy. Unable to adopt him herself, she contacted the TEAM Dog Rescue Association. They agreed to take over the care of Buddy until he found a permanent home.
Now, Buddy is living with a foster family and is living a loving life. He finally has the chance to run around and be a dog for the first time. He’s even had his very first dog walk! See for yourself:
