This story goes beyond the standard definition of animal cruelty. Instead, it's absolutely wicked; pure evil.
A 60-year-old man from Bouches-du-Rhône in southern France caused immense suffering to two dogs by feeding them sausages stuffed with nails. The poor pups required emergency surgery. Thankfully, both dogs made a full recovery. Serious operations like this can be really expensive, which is why owners should always invest in an insurance policy for their pets.
Shocking footage
The dogs' owners have no idea why the neighbour targeted their pets. CCTV footage from a camera installed in their garden caught the dog hater red-handed.
He was arrested, charged, and will face trial later this year. If found guilty, he faces up to two years in prison and a €30,000 fine. Let's hope he gets both.
You'd like to think a story like this couldn't happen anywhere else. But that's not the case.
In January of this year, police from Abergavenny here in the UK warned dog walkers following reports of a man spreading cocktail sausages spiked with nails on playing fields. The same man also left poisoned meat out for dogs to eat.
Sausages spiked with nails were found in Mercer Park in Clayton-le-Moors, Accrington. Carrie Ingham, who owns an English Bulldog named Winston, pulled one of the sausages out of her dog's mouth before he ate it.
These are the worst people
"Winston had a sniff at it," shared Carrie. "Luckily, I managed to get it away from him in time."
"It's vile behaviour. What are people even trying to achieve by doing this? They're horrible scum who should be forced to eat it themselves."
Now that would be a fitting punishment. Whoever is doing this is evil; pure evil.
