Was it a bird? Was it a plane? No, it was an agile kitty who flew through the air like he was born to fly. Meet Tucker, the Supercat.

Cats are famous for their incredible athletic ability. But a cute kitty named Tucker has, quite literally, taken it to new heights.

Tucker was recently caught on a cat cam flying through the air, performing a mind-boggling backflip, and finishing with a perfect 10 out of 10, landing on all four paws. Then, in typical cat fashion, Tucker stood there looking super cool, pretending like he hadn't just done the most amazing thing ever.

It's a 10 from all the judges

Tucker pulled off the backflip in the middle of the night while his people living in Colorado Springs, USA, were enjoying a short vacation. Tucker's humans were blown away by his antics.

"While on vacation, our cat Tucker wanted to practice his acrobatic routine. He sprinted from the kitchen and flipped onto the couch hard enough that his collar came off. Kung fu kitty," said his cat mom.

Tucker is usually a lazy cat. He's one of those cats who likes to spend most of the day chilling inside the house and grooming himself. This sudden burst of activity was very 'un-Tucker-like.'

His people think he may have been spooked by a bird, mouse, or something more mysterious.

"Maybe Tucker saw a ghost," suggested his owner.

The cat sitter checked in on Tucker the next day but found no evidence of any mice, birds, or ghostly visitations. Only Tucker knows what really happened, and he isn't saying anything.

Cats are natural-born athletes

Cats are known for their incredible flexibility, which is due to several physical adaptations that allow them to perform extraordinary feats of agility and contortion.

Cats have highly flexible spines that allow them to twist and turn their bodies in ways that would be impossible for us humans. They also have powerful muscles and elastic tendons, allowing them to make giant leaps and, in some cases, complete 360 mid-air backflips.
