Leaving pets home alone for the first time can be a daunting prospect for an owner, but fortunately, it resulted in something wonderfully wholesome in this case.

First times can always be tricky, especially when leaving your very bouncy puppy in the paws of her older brother.

Four-legged babysitter

To give him peace of mind while he wasn’t at home, the dog owner set up a camera to ensure he could still keep a close eye on the two Golden Retrievers. When the owner checked the live stream to see how the pair were getting on together, he couldn’t believe his eyes.

While the two dogs may have only been 15 months apart, the older dog took his babysitting duties seriously. But the little puppy seemed determined to put her big brother Wallace through his paces.

Prankster puppy

The clip shared on TikTok shows the older dog lying on the floor, watching the little puppy on her dog bed. The puppy soon starts bouncing around before running out of shot. The bigger dog chases her back towards the dog bed, and the pair chase each other for a few seconds.

The puppy then lands on the dog bed again and almost looks like she might be about to nap. But her wagging tail gives her away. She is soon rolling around on the dog bed as if teasing her big brother, who seems keen to get her to settle. Perhaps Wallace just wants a few minutes rest!

With over 73k likes, people couldn’t resist commenting on the heartwarming video. One person suggested, “Wallace is saying, “my hoomans put me in charge, and I can’t lose you, get back to bed,” while many others admitted to having watched the clip many times, saying it made them feel so happy.

Well done, Wallace!
