Then, the bird suddenly dropped whatever it had been holding.

The walkers watched as the item plummeted through the sky, but their interest soon turned to horror when they realised what it was.

A little kitten.

It seems that the bird picked up the kitten intending to eat it, but for some reason, it ended up dropping it.

The group rushed over to where the poor little kitten had landed. Fortunately, the kitten had landed on a bush, cushioning the impact and potentially saving his life.

Everyone knew that time was of the essence, so they rushed the kitten to a local animal welfare centre. The kitten, now appropriately named Lucky Flyer, was given a thorough check-over. Fortunately, despite what he had been through, he didn't appear to have come to any harm.

While it can be difficult to age wild cats, the kitten is thought to have been only a few weeks old. Despite his traumatic experience and young age, Lucky Flyer seems to be doing well and is being bottle-fed by staff.

It's not clear what the future holds for Lucky Flyer, but he's certainly had a lucky escape!
