The Labrador Retriever is one of the most popular breeds in the world, mainly due to its remarkable friendliness, enthusiasm towards all challenges, and its very playful and cheerful personality. Docile, gentle and intelligent, Labradors are used as service dogs, search and rescue dogs, hunting dogs, and of course, as loving pets! They can adapt to all kinds of lifestyles and excel in various canine disciplines.

You may see Siberian Huskies in sled-dog competitions, but today, they are more commonly chosen as pets. These beautiful and gentle dogs are ideal companions for people who like primitive breeds. Huskies are friendly towards everyone (hence not good guard dogs). They are very independent, and have a high prey drive. Getting a Husky is not a decision to be made lightly.

More details about the Labsky

Labsky: Origins and history

The Labsky, also sometimes referred to as a Huskador, is a cross between the Labrador Retriever and Siberian Husky.

Labskies may have been bred before in other parts of the world, but the crossbreed was first recorded in the United States in the 1990s

The Labsky has gained popularity due to its attractive appearance and distinctive personality. The Labsky is still considered a fairly new crossbreed, but has been gaining popularity in recent years.

Labskies are known to be active, intelligent, and affectionate companions. They are typically medium-sized once fully grown.

Training a Labsky

Labskies are intelligent dogs, but they also need patience and consistency to thrive.

It's very important to start training your Labsky at a young age, using positive reinforcement training. Keep sessions short and regular.

Labskies are very active dogs, so it's important to provide plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. A bored Labsky may become frustrated and destructive.

Labsky: Purchase price

Labskies can cost between £800-£1,500, depending on the breeder and your location.

The daily cost of life with a Labsky can vary, but you should factor in expenses relating to food, doggy supplies, veterinary care and pet insurance.
