A video was recently shared on YouTube showing the bravery of a small black and white cat.
The cat was minding his own business, patrolling his territory around his back garden.
Wild animal blocks cat’s path
Suddenly, a coyote shows up out of the blue, blocking the cat’s path. It’s clear the coyote is trying to figure out his next move: Does he go forward, and try to chase the cat? Or does he walk away.
The cat, unimpressed by the coyote’s threatening glance, decided to charge before it was too late. He can then be seen launching forward, hair standing up on his back, with absolutely no fear in his stride.
Cat chases terrified coyote
The coyote is terrified by the cat’s show of confidence and promptly runs away in the opposite direction.
While the cat’s behaviour was no doubt brave, he was a very lucky cat indeed. Coyotes often hunt cats and small dogs. If you live in a neighbourhood with coyotes, maybe consider installing a catio for your cat, instead of letting them roam freely outside.
