Three years ago, Kimberley, George Woods, their two daughters and their adopted dog named Freckles, moved to Coral Springs. The family was warmly welcomed by the local community and until recently lived peacefully.
One night though, there was an uninvited guest who showed up. Fortunately the doggie was there to wake up his humans...
An unexpected guest
In May 2020, at 3:30 a.m., George and Kimberley were awakened by the constant barking of their dog. They then went to see why the dog was in such a state and couldn't believe their eyes. There was an alligator in their house! Yes, you read that right, in their house!!
George had lived most of his life in Hollywood and a few years in Wyndham Lakes, so he was used to the wilderness of the area. But he had never met an alligator before… especially not in his home!
A great guard dog
A little panicked, George and Kimberley quickly called for help from a specialised company which arrived on site very quickly. The alligator was put in their truck, safe.
The people of Coral Springs live about two hours from the Everglades, so it's not uncommon to see alligators every now and then. So it is good to have a dog that sounds the alarm in case of danger. Fortunately, no one got hurt.
