Hudson the dog is a big, brave Golden Retriever these days but his Instagram account has just posted a throwback to the days when he wasn’t quite so tough.
The hilarious video shows the tiny pup approaching an unknown object in his water bowl. He takes immediate offence and can be seen snarling, barking and even biting the ice cube. Very vicious! Eventually, the pup wins the battle and manages to extricate the ice cube from his water bowl.
Hot under the collar
According to owner Caroline, who hails from Connecticut in the US, she placed the ice in Hudson’s bowl to help cool him down. We don’t imagine she expected the pup to get quite so heated!
Giving your dogs ice cubes on hot days can actually be a great way to keep them cool and we’re pretty sure they won’t always react like this! Although, you could always crush the ice into smaller pieces to be on the safe side, this will protect their teeth too.

The post has over 100,000 views on Instagram with followers falling in love with the “brave” pup.
