Reported as "aggressive" by neighbours, misunderstood dog has an adorable secret (video)

Priscilla Wolcott is an animal control officer for Fresno Humane Animal Services in California.

Back in June, she received a call that she simply couldn't ignore.

The caller told her that a dog was wandering around the basement of a building. According to them, the dog was "aggressive" towards people.

A delicate rescue

So, when Priscilla headed to the scene, she was mentally prepared for a difficult rescue. But as soon as she arrived, nothing went as planned. Instead, she found the dog lying quietly near the building, showing no signs of aggression at all. She was simply an exhausted female dog, watching her rescuer cautiously...

Priscilla began speaking softly to her to try and win her trust. Just then, a tiny white head popped out of the building. It was an adorable, very fluffy little puppy! A few seconds later, a second puppy emerged from the hiding place. Both puppies immediately rushed over to the rescuer, eager for some fuss.

A mother's instinct

The dog's alleged "aggression" was probably nothing more than a mother's protective instinct, watching over her pups. Despite spending their first few weeks outside, both puppies were in excellent health. Well-fed and full of energy, they had clearly relied on their mother to care for them in these tough conditions.

Priscilla managed to get the whole family into a carrier before driving them to the shelter. The story of this little family deeply touched people online. Thanks to suggestions from the rescuer's followers, the mum was named Sky, while her puppies were named Cloudy and Sunny.

Wonderful news: Sky quickly found an adoptive home, as did her daughter Cloudy. As for Sunny, whom rescuers describe as an affectionate, playful, and very social puppy, he is still waiting for his perfect family. We hope he finds his way to his forever home very soon!
