He urgently contacted the rescue team at the Arizona Humane Society (AHS).
A strange rescue
The shelter team wasn't sure what to expect. They sent two rescuers, Kenzee and Julie, to investigate and attempt to save the little intruder trapped in the ceiling.
Once they arrived, the rescuers began searching for the source of the desperate meows.
They used thermal sensors to pinpoint the exact location of the cries, then carefully cut a hole in the ceiling.
Kenzee reached blindly into the opening and pulled out the tiniest little creature.
A kitten in danger
The ceiling invader turned out to be an incredibly tiny, two-week-old kitten, who was later named Nala.
As Nala was so tiny, her rescuers rushed her to the AHS's Lazin Animal Foundation Trauma Hospital to get the care she desperately needed.
Nala was underweight for her age and dehydrated. She also had scratches on her abdomen and was suffering from an upper respiratory infection.
She wouldn't have survived much longer on her own, which is undoubtedly why she was meowing so loudly for help.
After a few days at the hospital, Nala was cleared to go to her foster home with Kenzee, before eventually finding her forever family.
